You can now undo and redo your actions on the workflow canvas. A deleted node or an unwanted connection is one click or one shortcut away from coming back.
What's new
Until now, every action on the workflow canvas was permanent. Deleting the wrong node or dragging a connection loose meant rebuilding the node and rewiring it by hand. Now you can step back through your recent actions and step forward again, so you can try ideas on the canvas without risk.
Undo and redo from the toolbar or keyboard
Use the Undo and Redo buttons in the workflow canvas toolbar, or press Cmd+Z and Cmd+Shift+Z on macOS (Ctrl+Z and Ctrl+Shift+Z elsewhere). Each button is disabled when there is nothing to undo or redo. Hover over a button to see its shortcut.
What you can undo
Undo covers the edits you make on the canvas: creating, deleting and duplicating nodes, connecting and disconnecting nodes, moving and resizing nodes, renaming nodes, changing node settings, and grouping nodes into a section or ungrouping them. Inserting a building block is one undo step. Dragging several nodes at once is also one step.
See what changed
After an undo or redo, the nodes that step touched are selected. If they are off screen, the canvas pans to them.
A few things to know
- Undo and redo are available to everyone who can edit the workflow. The buttons are disabled while the canvas is locked or read-only, and hidden in view-only mode.
- Your undo history covers your own actions in the current editing session.
- If an edit can't be undone safely, Undo shows a message such as "Can't undo" instead of silently reversing an older edit.
