You can now edit an item a workflow produced without leaving the workflow. Open it in the editor, make your changes and save, and the edited version replaces the original in the workflow output.
What's new
Until now, Workflows had no way into the editor. If a workflow produced an item that needed a change, you had to fix it somewhere else. Now the same Edit entry point you know from Canvas is on workflow nodes, so you can review, fix and finish an item in one place.
Open an item in the editor
Click Edit in the node header, to the left of the … menu. On a node with several items, Edit opens the item you have selected. Images and videos open in the Creative Ads Editor. Other item types open in their own editor. When you leave the editor, you return to the workflow with the node you edited in view.
Save back into the workflow
Save your changes in the editor and the edited version replaces the item in the workflow output. If you leave the editor without changing anything, the workflow stays as it was.
See and undo edits in run history
A manual edit appears in the node's run history as Edited. Restoring the run before it brings the earlier item back and marks downstream nodes as stale.
A few things to know
- Edit is not available while a node is running. When the workflow is locked or read-only, or if you don't have edit permission.
- Saving an edit does not re-run downstream nodes.
- Edit is hidden on item types the editor can't open.
