You can now define a naming convention once and apply it to the items a workflow produces, instead of naming them one by one.
What's new
Until now, items created by a workflow were named ad hoc, which made them hard to tell apart and find, especially in workflows that produce many items. Now you can choose a naming convention for the whole workflow or for individual nodes, and every item the workflow creates is named from it.
Apply a convention to the whole workflow
Click the naming convention icon in the right header, beside the labels control. Choose one convention for each content type: Works, Generations and Variations. Template nodes can also name the formats inside each variation. Tick the checkbox to rename the items earlier runs produced as well.
Apply a convention to one or more nodes
Open a node's … menu to set its convention. To set several at once, select the nodes and use the new multi-select header. Each node is only offered the conventions its content type accepts, and on a node whose output can't be named the option is hidden. If you set a convention at both levels, the most recent one wins.
A few things to know
- Applying a convention also renames the items each node is currently showing.
- A convention can include segments only you can fill in. The values you enter are kept and used on later runs.
- The apply-to-all control for several nodes offers only conventions that every selected node supports.
