New Media Performance Score v4
We are excited to introduce a massive leap forward in our AI scoring capabilities!
This release introduces Media Performance Score. We are moving away from general industry benchmarks to fully personalized predictions. By connecting your ad accounts, Pencil can now analyze your specific historical performance to predict how new creatives will perform before you spend a dollar.
What is the difference?
  • Legacy Score: Compared your ads to a generic database of industry ads.
  • New Media Performance Score: Compares your new ads to your own historical winners and losers.
Note: The current implementation is only for Meta Ad account and CTR metric.
How the Score Works: The new score predicts a CTR Percentile.
  • A score of 0.85 doesn't mean "85% accurate." It means we predict this ad will achieve a higher CTR than 85% of your previous ads.
  • It uses advanced AI (semantic embeddings) to find patterns in your past creative performance (minimum 200 historical images and videos required) to grade your new ideas.
How to Activate (BETA):
  1. Opt-In: Go to Settings > Beta Features and toggle on "New Media Performance Score."
  • Note: This is a permanent upgrade. Once activated, it replaces the legacy score and cannot be undone.
  1. Connect: Go to Settings > Score > Media Performance and ensure your ad accounts are connected
  1. Analyze: The system will process your data (approx. 2-3 hours). Once the status reads "Ready," your scores will appear on all creative work items.
This update is designed to help you stop wasting budget on underperforming ads by flagging them before launch, based on the data that matters most—your own.
FAQ
Q: Do you plan to add other ad accounts in the future? A: Yes, we plan to add additional ad accounts such as Google and TikTok, along with other performance metrics.
Q: Where does the new media performance score appear? A: The score appears in the same location as before—there is no change to its placement. Additionally, suggestions will now be displayed in bullet points, and we are working to roll out this update across all scores.
